High School and College Chemistry Tutoring
My Story
Hi! My name is Sophia and I am a professional chemistry tutor. Thanks to a fantastic lecturer at the University of Maryland, I quickly fell in love with the subject of Chemistry and have been working in the field of Chemistry Education ever since!
While at UMD I began to tutor, TA, and teach help sessions in undergraduate chemistry courses. After graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry from UMD, I went on to get an M.A. in Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University and completed the Johns Hopkins Teaching Academy certification program.
I am now a high school chemistry teacher at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, MD. With experience in high school, undergraduate, and graduate education, I am more excited than ever to work with students who want some extra help in their high school and undergraduate chemistry courses!
Sophia was super helpful and encouraging... Also, she taught me a lot and explained everything in detail so that I was able to understand.

Sophia was an excellent TA who always strove to help her students. She was incredibly approachable and kind, and so my lab partner and I were never uncomfortable asking her questions during lab. In all honesty, I do not believe she had any weakness as a TA.
